Lyearn resources

Lyearn MCP capability reference

Use this reference to understand the learning, knowledge, organisation, analytics, and productivity capabilities available through Lyearn MCP. Your connection permissions and your organisation’s configuration determine which tools you can use.

Read operations and saved proposals

The company, people, learning, productivity, relationship, and analytics tools below retrieve information. The two organisation proposal tools save reviewable records in Lyearn. An administrator reviews and publishes accepted organisational changes.

Using the reference

You can ask questions in plain language; you do not need to name a tool. Your AI app selects tools from the capabilities exposed to your connection. For integrations that inspect the MCP interface directly, use tools/list for the current exposed names, descriptions, and input schemas.

Access and interpretation

Learning resources are limited to the accessible library. Reading another person’s learning information requires the relevant team or organisation-wide permission. Productivity metrics depend on enabled models and available evidence; an absent score is unavailable information rather than a score of zero.

Organisational headcount can count filled positions rather than all people on record. Reports and searches may return limited or paginated results. Use any completeness or data-quality notices when interpreting the answer.

Important limits

Capability Limit or behaviour
Course and article search or summaries Require searchable material. Listing another learning format does not establish that its full content can be searched or summarised.
Learning recommendations Exclude resources the learner has already started or completed.
Analytics report queries Return up to 12 grouped or result rows per run. Ask for aggregation when you need totals.
Model analyses Use defined analyses and supported parameters; arbitrary analyses are not available through runAnalysis.
Organisation drafts A named draft can contain up to 200 proposed changes. Each change remains subject to human review.
Organisation history An empty history can mean no events are recorded; it does not prove that no changes occurred.
